Robert Burale is home! Controversial preacher discharged after Covid-19 diagnosis

This past week was an interesting one for Robert Burale. The man of God and motivational speaker needed to motivate himself after he revealed that he had been diagnosed with Covid-19.

The reason I call it interesting for him was that instead of getting sympathy from Kenyans, some took it as an opportunity to attack him stating that he might be lying.

The story stopped being about him being sick but that he was a conman who trying to chase clout using the pandemic as the tool.

But he stuck to his story despite the many doubters.

But is he still in hospital? Nope… Unbeknownst to many, the man has been back at home for the past one week. This news was disclosed by one of his close friends and neighbours who broke the news to Kenyans.

Tell Mr. Nice this – Maina Kageni makes emotional promise to struggling singer

Maina Kageni is one man who has influenced the radio industry in ways that will still be felt long after he retires. The Classic105 colossus has been a fixture on many Kenyans minds and one reason for that is his empathic character especially on issues that they are concerned about.

Not only will he speak about issues he is passionate about, but he will also put his money where his mouth is. Today morning the presenter reminded Kenyans of that trait when he spoke about veteran Tanzanian musician Mr. Nice.

Maina Kageni

Maina said on his morning show today that he would be willing to help the struggling artiste get in the recording booth on his own dime. “If you know where Mr. Nice is, Maina Kageni is looking for him. He says he will pay for studio time. He will help him work with Lizer, Cedo and Magix Enga.”

This comes after news that the singer was in Kenya after a two-year stint in Uganda, according to reports. In 2018, Mr. Nice allegedly moved to Uganda, where he tried to work after he claimed Tanzanians mocked him.

He indicated his strong feelings on Instagram at the time, saying, “I prefer staying where I make money. Or do you (Tanzanians) prefer I stay home so you keep laughing at me? That is not appropriate, our President John Magufuli urges us to continue working hard and stop gossiping.”

He recently moved to Kenya and lives in Kitengela, where he intends to keep away from the public. Mr. Nice was the biggest thing in East African music in the early 2000’s.

I had suffered the greatest tragedy of my life – Julie Gichuru emotionally recounts

Uchungu wa mwana aujue ni mama. This Kiswahili saying literally means, The labour of childbirth is known only by the mother or another definition can be, Only a mother knows the sorrow of her own child.

Julie Gichuru is one woman who can say she has lived the above phrase in her own life. The celebrated TV journalist lost a child over a decade ago, an event that she has never forgotten (something that would affect most women, I am sure).

The pain has been ever-present for the mother of 5 who seems to have a picture-perfect life with her well-to-do husband Anthony Gichuru.

Julie revealed her sentimental thoughts on her Instagram page recently. In her post, she intimated that she had to soldier on with her new NTV job just after losing her third born son David.

The veteran journalist explained how the period had been a struggle for her with only God taking them through the situation, encouraging her fans to trust in Him.

“Back in the day… as part of the new team at NMG – we had just conceptualised and launched NTV, “she started off.

At a personal level, I had suffered the greatest tragedy of my life, the loss of our thirdborn. We named him David, and like King David in the Bible, we had to find the courage to live on in faith. We pleaded with God to hold us tight through the agony. That faith was everything. He has never let us go.

When He holds you tight, even with a broken heart you can smile.

In these difficult times, hold on to faith, courage and grace, for it is through these that He holds us close.

Stay safe and well 🙏❤

Julie’s son, David passed on in 2005 after he choked while being fed by her house-help. He was rushed to the hospital immediately but didn’t make it.

“My house help was feeding the child, he got choked, rushed to the hospital, the doctors managed to resuscitate him, but later could not stand the amount of adrenaline injected in his body, the boy left us,” Julie once narrated.

Robert Burale finally speaks after Kenyans called him out over his Covid-19 diagnosis

Robert Burale has been under the cosh this past week. After he admitted that he had been admitted after suffering from Covid-19 complications, some Kenyans went all out to expose him.

Some of the attacks centred on some of the controversies he had had in the past while others alleged that he had faked the Covid-19 prognosis.

Accusations leveled against him by masses were; he is nothing short of a con artist who is here to grab attention for monetary reasons.

I was scared…I got angry…I was devastated-Burale narrates about Covid-19 diagnosis

But Burale has come out swinging, the motivational speaker categorically stated that it is not in his place to defend his case. He also dismissed the claims that he in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but in the isolation ward.

“I never need to defend myself for being unwell. But I am fully recovering and I am not in the Intensive Care Unit. I am in an Isolation ward.”

He reiterated his earlier stance about how bad the disease was saying, “This disease is real and those arguing that it cannot be contracted are misplaced. Kenyans should be safe and adhere to protocols guided. I pray for everyone´s safety.”

Burale had announced his Covid-19 diagnosis on his Facebook page on July 6th with many Kenyans initially sympathising with him.

But his radio interview with Massawe Jappanni set the ball rolling for the doubters. Why? He was spotted wearing a cap and a T-shirt on a hospital bed sparking rumors that he might have faked the whole situation for the clout.

This situation might scare some public personalities from sharing their Covid-19 prognosis after the treatment Mr. Burale has received. Just saying…

Doctors were also amused at the photos and shared through Hai Phong International Hospital social media. The Facebook pictures have gone viral, showing the baby with his eyes shut while holding the IUD.

Kasee drunk from a poisoned chalice – Ken Waudo says police investigating matter

The news has already caused a reverberating moment on the industry sort of the way that the Metoo movement changed the political movement in Hollywood.

Since his death, many have been wondering what caused his early demise. We finally have an answer. In a statement released by the chairman of the Comedians in Kenya Society, Ken Waudo, the postmortem results said that the comedian drank from a poisoned cup, leading to his death.

Kasee

Waudo explained that the issue was now a police matter and wouldn’t comment further.

“The final results of postmortem conducted on the late comedian indicate that he had drank from a poisoned chalice. It’s a matter under police investigations so we will not comment further on it,” said the statement.

Kasee was found dead on the road leading to his home and was laid to rest at Itumunduni Village, Masinga Location, Matuu in Machakos County.

Churchill mourns as popular ‘Churchill Raw’ comedian found dead

Kasee’s death continues the sad tale of Kenyan comedians in the industry passing on under mysterious circumstances. Late last year, another comedian Njenga Msawhili was found dead along the railway tracks in Dagoretti.

The deaths have unleashed a torrent of blame game in the industry with some top comedians pointing the finger at Victor Ber, who works for a prominent comedy company.

I was scared…I got angry…I was devastated-Burale narrates about Covid-19 diagnosis

Covid-19 is real people! While many Kenyans might have become jaded about the pandemic, many celebrities that we like and maybe care about are experiencing the disease first-hand.

After Musa Otieno’s infection a few weeks ago, Robert Burale is the latest celeb to suffer the consequences of the dangerous flu.

The pastor and motivational speaker revealed this sad news himself on his Facebook page. Burale expained that he had developed breathing complications on Wednesday last week.

He was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he was tested for Covid-19 and the results turned out positive. He said that he had been waiting for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s announcement to share details of his situation.

His sad, long and inspiring monologue is below:

THE battle belongs to the Lord …

So I waited for the president to give his speech before I put up my post ..Now that the country is opened..I owe it to family, friends and people I love this information…Above all, everything we go through Is for Gods glory..

Last week Wednesday I(after recording an FB program that airs of Fridays)was struggling to breath and rushed to Nairobi Hospital where I was tested for Covid-19 (the doctor in the PPE was the most intimidating thing at that moment) 24 hours later the results were out…

The doctor walks in to the isolation room and she says “Hello Mr Burale your results are out,” and I reply “So I can go home” ..she says, “Unfortunately you have tested positive for Covid and we have to now take you to the isolation ward.” A lot went through my mind …I was scared….I got angry….I was devastated…Then I worried for my daughter (thank God she is perfectly okay)…

For two days I fought for my life under the great care of the Doctors and Nurses at Nairobi Hospital….I saw the Hand of God…My progress is good ..My vitals are responding well…

Blessed Njugush and his wife Celestine “Wakavinye” Ndinda have a YouTube channel that they have been promoting wildly with exciting content this year.

Just like Bahati and his wife or Kabi WaJesus and his wife, Ngugush and his wife have made a push to get their YouTube channel off the ground and into the ether.

The two recently revealed that they were pregnant with their second child. The news was met with glowing praise with many happy for the couple that is still proof of the merits and beauty of marriage.

And where else would they share glorious details about their pregnancy? Their YouTube page of course. This week the two spoke about the complications that came with their first pregnancy.

One of the most interesting things that resulted from the complications that they faced was that it was an inspiration for their son’s name.

According to the duo, it was always Ndinda’s wish to deliver her baby through normal delivery but that was not meant to be the case.

“I was at a friend’s house when Cele’s doctor called to say that I was needed in the hospital. I was in labour so badly and since the baby was tired, his heartbeat started to drop. I needed to go to CS,” said the Ndinda.

‘We were not ready to be parents’, Njugush and wife Celestine narrates how stressful it was to learn they were pregnant

She explained that the doctors hadn’t noticed that their son was not coming out because he had tied himself with the cord around his neck. “When they were doing the scan, the head appeared to be okay. They did not see the cord around his neck. The doctor discovered the cord during CS,” narrated Celestine.

The couple added that had they not had the CS they would most likely have lost the child. Their parents stood with them and spent time praying for the birth of their son in the hospital.

“When I woke up, the doctor said we were very lucky. I was very happy. I could have even called Tugi a miracle. It would have been a very painful story if we lost him. Tugi would have been called Jayden but since he went through a lot, his name is a Kikuyu word meaning grace,” said Njugush wife.

If someone told me January last year that I’d be feeling you kick deep in my belly at the sound of your father’s voice, I’d most definitely think they were deranged! Endometriosis had crippled my dreams of birthing a child. But here we are. A pleasant and welcomed surprise. I can’t wait to meet you. Hold you and teach you EVERYTHING I know.

To the baby’s father; I couldn’t have chosen a better person to do this with. I see the good in you and how you raise your own and I know my child will be loved ETERNALLY.

Full-bodied Silprosa leaves little to the imagination as she poses in sultry photos

The body positivity movement is one that has become more mainstream over the years and seems it will get more wind under it as a side-effect of the Black Lives Matter movement.

While some may have their opinions about its merits and demerits, there are some like Auntie Boss star Sandra Dacha aka Silprosa who has embraced the movement fully.

Sandra Dacha aka Silprosa

The full-figured actress decided to flaunt her figure unapologetically to her over 130k Instagram followers.  Silprosa gave ger fans a lesson on how to love their bodies while using scintillating photos she took on her 30th birthday.

Former Auntie boss actress Nyce Wanjeri speaks out on marriage

The month of June has been one of fearless expression for Siprosa as she showcased different outfits with the one major tie-in being her big curvy body and thunder thighs, that she showed off proudly.

Sandra Dacha aka Silprosa

Showing that being body-shamed can only happen when the victims accepts the attacks instead of ignoring them as Silprosa impressively did with her critics.

However, most of her fans were quick to congratulate her with many expressing their delight at the chutzpah she was expressing with the numerous photo-shoots.

Silprosa reminds me of American rapper Lizzo who has become the focal point of the current body positivity movement happening in America.

Lizzo just like Silprosa has made society confront their definitions of what beauty is supposed to be, advancing a conversation that has been taking place since obesity became one of the biggest killers worldwide.

Has he forgiven the man who shot him in the neck? DJ Evolve tells all

DJ Evolve’s life will never be the same again! He better than most now knows the value and impact a second can have on one’s life.

A time in history where Emabakasi MP Babu Owino allegedly pulled the trigger on the unsuspecting DJ. A moment that will forever be etched in Kenyan minds.

Yesterday, the DJ gave an interview to NTV and one could see tell see the impact that that fateful day in January had already had on him.

The DJ whose real names are Felix Orinda explained that he couldn’t do anything for himself, and fully depends on other people to do things for him. Evolve who struggled with his speech due to a tube that has been attached to his neck said,

“I’m currently …just here. There is nothing I do for myself, so I’m fully dependent on people do to things for me.”

DJ Evolve is a personal friend and no one can come in between us – Babu Owino

The DJ, however, had a positive spin on his condition saying that he had improved a bit since the start of his ordeal,

“I’m OK generally, I’m doing better as opposed to when it first happened. I was really traumatized at the beginning but I learnt to live with it. At least nowadays I can be able to sleep, but before I couldn’t sleep at all, I kept having flashbacks of the fateful day. I needed medication to put me to sleep.”

The DJ who has been recuperating at home mentioned that his health is slowly improving as he can now move his hands a bit, something that was not possible before.

“I’m slightly able to move my limbs (Hands), that’s the much I can do, but I can’t be able to move my arms. Not really, because these were my tools of trade, so when I don’t have them there is no way I can be able to work. But generally, looking at it, its better because I can move them, but before I couldn’t do that.”

The one burning question many may have for the DJ is whether he had forgiven the person who had put him in that horrible position? He answer was open-ended saying that he left that to the Lord;

“I left that to God and I’m waiting for the justice system to see what will go through. But aside from that, I don’t have anything else to say.”

“Since the day of the incident, I quit my job to take care of my son. we have just been depending on well-wishers for survival. Due to the pain (in my heart), I cannot talk. I just talk to my God. My son’s life has been destroyed. (I hope to get) justice for my kid. only that,” she says.

The mother also explained that Babu Owino had indeed paid the Sh. 7 million hospital bill as ordered by the court.

“Babu Owino paid the 7 million shillings bill as ordered by the courts. I did not ask for my son to be discharged as reported by several media houses. I am not a doctor and I do not know how someone could fake something like that,” she said.

Does she have cancer? Singer Habida finally releases test results

Kenyan singer Habida Moloney has gone through one of the toughest situations one can go experience in life-the the queasy unknowing feeling of a cancer scare. Do you have it or don’t you? That feeling can be worse than getting the result itself as one lives on the edge-a prisoner of uncertainty and limbo.

Habida

The point-5 musician had revealed last week that she had discovered a lump in her breast, and had taken a biopsy test. And what made her more nervous was that she had lost her to the disease back in 2013.

‘I don’t know if I have cancer yet,’ singer Habida reveals she has a lump in her breast

The results are finally in and the singer can now celebrate, the test came back negative. She revealed this information on her Instagram page noting that had had moments of fear, faith and moments of crying for fear of death and leaving her children.

Habida

Habida mentioned that as she waited for her results, she noted that people only plan when they are in crisis,

“I’ve got my result! And it’s a fantastic “negative” result for cancer! I have had moments of fear, moments of faith, crying moments at the thought of death because of my children and then moments of confidence that God can do all things! I realised that it’s only in moments of crisis do we prepare! I need God in all facets of my life! I need to prepare myself for trials in life because they WILL come. Why did I have to see death as a real potential before I choose to live? Why can’t we choose life and life more abundantly because that’s Gods will for us? I hope this instigates a thought in you about how you live,” said Habida.
