This past week I interviewed the motivational speaker Robert Burale. The well-spoken pastor was a breath of fresh air and didn’t shy away from any question that I asked him.
One of the facets of his life that I was interested in was how he kept himself going as an inspirational speaker? Who inspired him? Who did he look up to as a role model and a mentor? He had a couple, telling me;
“I do have mentors. You can never be a person of authority of you don’t have someone you are under. Bishop David Mureithi of House of Grace is the person I am under.”
“Sometimes TD Jakes says, ‘What happens when the encourager needs encouragement?’ So you must have someone you can go to and be open with and who is strong enough to refill you with their words and their prayers. I also go to God for encouragement.”
But I was also in for a surprise as the relationship-minded pastor revealed explained that one person who really keeps him grounded is his own daughter, Lexie. The man of God said;
One of my greatest encouragers is my daughter. She might be 15 but her mind is something else. At times we laugh, we talk and sometimes she will give a comment in passing not realising that in that comment I found my solution. The joy of fatherhood keeps me grounded.
