The Ministry of Health has confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Kenya as of March 12. The patient was a Kenyan citizen who returned to Kenya from the US via London UK on March 5. The patient is stable and the temperature has gone down.
This is according to health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
The government has also suspended all visits to prison for the next 30 days. Also suspended all public gatherings, church crusades, games, and even interschool events. Travel outside the country suspended unless absolutely necessary. Zero travel to countries with a high Coronavirus outbreak.
Some of the measures outlined by the government for Kenyans to follow are below:
Persons with a cough or sneeze to stay at home.
Stay at home if you feel unwell with fever,
All public gatherings suspended.
All inter-schools events suspended.
Public transport providers to provide hand sanitizers.
