Four students at the Milimani secondary school have been admitted in hospital following a fire incident at the institution this morning.
The school is near Nairobi Primary along State House Road. The cause of the fire is yet to be established but officials say it started at one of the dorms burning a section of it.
The students inhaled smoke that chocked them but they are in stable condition. Fire engines from the county government rushed to the scene and managed to contain the spread.
The affected students have been moved to a different dormitory.
The fire comes barely a week after a form two student was burnt to death after fire burnt down a dormitory at Njia Boys High school in Igembe central constituency.
The cause of fire is yet to be established.
The student, who was killed in the fire, was sick and was sleeping in the dormitory when the fire struck at around 7pm on Wednesday night.
Martha Kanario, a neighbor at the school, said the heard screams at around 7pm and we went to see what was going on.
“On reaching the school gate we were prevented from entering until the fire engine arrived at around 7:30 but could not salvage the dormitory that was burnt to ashes,” Kanario said.
