21st December 2016, marked a very special day for Kenya’s second in command, Honourable William Ruto.
Deputy President William Ruto was celebrating a new chapter in his life in style after turning 50 years. He was born on December 21st 1966 in Kamagut, Uasin Gishu County to Daniel Cheruiyot and Sarah Cheruiyot.
President Uhuru Kenyatta took to his Facebook page to wish his ‘brother’ ‘Friend’ as well as ‘Able Deputy’ a happy birthday alongside photos of him enjoying some cake with staff and friends among them local leaders.
Join me in wishing my brother, friend and able Deputy a happy 50th Birthday. May you ever remain “strong in will, to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield”. God’s blessings always! The post read.

Ruto attended Kerotet Primary School then Wareng Secondary School for his Ordinary Levels education before proceeding to Kapsabet Boys, Nandi for his Advanced Levels.
He then went on to receive a BSc (Botany and Zoology) from the University of Nairobi, graduating in 1990. He was also a member of Christian Union where he served as Chairman.
What many don’t really know about him is that he was ranked the best student in his class.
