1,500 women brewers of illicit alcohol rehabilitated by counties in the North Rift

More than 1,500 women who were engaged in brewing and selling illicit alcohol have been successfully rehabilitated under a joint initiative by Uasin Gishu, Nandi, and Baringo Counties.

Governor Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart, Alex Tolgos said the women will undergo further training and support to enable them engage in income generating activities.

Mandago said they had teamed up with county commissioners to intensify the war on the illegal brews.
