Shocking surveillance footage shows the moment a terrified 11-year-old girl jumped out of a carjacked SUV in Chicago.
In the video, the girl is seen jumping out of the SUV and rolling on the ground as her father tried to stop another car driven by the carjacker’s accomplice.
He is seen leaping onto the hood of the accomplice’s car as both vehicles speed away.
Moments later, the girl’s father is seen comforting her before police arrive. Police said the girl and her father were not hurt.
The Aurora Police Department said in a statement that police responded to the BP gas station located in the 1200 block of N. Eola Road just after 6.45am on Friday.
An Illinois State Police trooper spotted the stolen SUV less than an hour later and Tyrelle Pulley was arrested following a brief chase
Police said that Tyrelle L. Pulley allegedly jumped into a 2018 Jeep Cherokee as its owner was getting ready to fill it with gas and took off
Still in the vehicle was the owner’s daughter, who jumped out of the vehicle as Pulley was accelerating through the parking lot.
Pulley, 20, reportedly got out of a blue Dodge Charger that pulled up next to the Jeep and both vehicles took off northwest from the area.
An Illinois State Police trooper spotted the stolen SUV less than an hour later on Interstate 290 and Pulley was arrested following a brief chase.
The pursuit ended in a crash near First Avenue, and Pulley was taken into custody. No one was injured in the crash.
Pulley was charged with three felonies: aggravated vehicular hijacking, aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding police.
He is currently being held in the DuPage County lockup. His accomplice is being sought.
