Samidoh mourns athiest Mugithi singer Kioi Junior

Expressing his sorrow, Samuel Muchoki, known as Samidoh, mourns the passing of Kioi Junior, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.

"Today, we mourn the loss of a brilliant songwriter and skilled guitarist," remarked Samidoh, emphasizing the profound impact Kioi had on his musical career.

Describing Kioi as both a brother and mentor, Samidoh recalled their shared moments in Githurai 44, reminiscing over meals of githeri at Kwa Guchu.

"Your guidance, particularly in teaching me chords, will forever echo in my music. Ti uhoro, Huruka thayu. Rest in peace, Kioi Junior," Samidoh concluded.

Kioi embarked on his musical journey while performing with Kamande wa Kioi's band. In 2020, he publicly identified himself as an atheist.
